1977 – Hydrogen Cadillac

Billings’ work in hydrogen received national attention with the Cadillac Seville that was featured in Jimmy Carter’s Presidential Inaugural Parade.

The vehicle was equipped to run on either hydrogen or gasoline — for greater range in the absence of hydrogen refueling stations.

Hydrogen was stored in a state-of-the art hydride vessel.

Billings drove a hydrogen fueled Cadillac Seville in Carter’s presidential inauguration. He has a hydrogen powered bus operating in Provo, and one also in Riverside, Calif. . . . Billings is a millionaire, corporation president, and, as a leading exponent of hydrogen energy, he may well be one of the most potentially important men in the energy-worried world.
