As a new college graduate, Roger had the rare opportunity to be mentored by one of America’s great inventors / industrialists – Bill Lear.
In an informal, at-your-elbow setting, Billings gained invaluable insight and experience in taking products from conceptualization to commercialization – tools that would empower his future ventures in pioneering cutting-edge technologies.
Billings’ mentoring experience also set the stage for the applied approach to education he later helped to develop at the International Academy of Science.
This is the most important thing I will ever try to teach you — is to know when you don’t know.
The smartest person is the one that knows when he does not know something. Then he can go find someone that does know to help. You will never accomplish anything great in life if you are so full of yourself that you do not know when to reach out to someone that knows more.
