2018 – Acellus STEM-10 Coding Courses and Robot Launched

The Acellus STEM-10 initiative, launched at CES 2018 by Dr. Billings and his team at the Institute of Science and Technology (IST), is a 10-year coding program designed to teach students from 3rd grade through high school. The goal is to prepare them for technology careers by graduation. Beginning with basic coding concepts, the course gradually increases in complexity, eventually involving hands-on programming with Cellus Bot, a robot featuring lights, sensors, and a laser. The curriculum is fully self-contained, making it suitable not only for schools with limited coding instructors, but also for homeschooling families.

The Acellus STEM-10 Initiative was featured in this segment on CESTV covering the next generation of consumer technology innovations at Eureka Park.

The STEM-10 initiative is going to help make America great. To become proficient in coding and similar technology, one must start at an early age. While some few are drawn to technology in their youth, most are not. Starting with a broad deployment in the 3rd grade and building upon that start year after year will result in many more trained and capable graduates, especially in the case of women and minorities. In ten years the demand for these abilities will be far greater than anyone can imagine, not only to be able to run our own telephones, and smart devices, but also to be able to develop the new products and applications of the day.”

The Acellus STEM-10 Coding Course and Robot has also been selected as one of the best products at CES 2018 by TWICE, producer of the Official CES Daily. Read more >>
