Dr. Billings and his team at WideBand Corporation were selected by the US Army for a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Contract. Dr. Billings was the Principle Investigator and Chief Scientist on the project.
The goal of the project is to research and develop key technology areas that will reduce latency in a multi-node communication architecture and lead to a modular and reusable communications architecture for the hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) test environments. Potential commercial applications include high performance cluster computing environments such as digital content distribution, digital video surveillance with processing such as facial recognition, signal processing, and scientific research.
